Position Overview
As the Finance Director, you will oversee the Finance and City Clerk departments. This role involves managing accounting, payroll, financial reporting, debt management, and risk management. You will work directly with the Mayor and executive leadership to align the city’s strategic plan with its fiscal budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as City Treasurer and lead department staff.
- Manage accounting operations, payroll, and accounts payable.
- Oversee revenue collection, licensing, and tax administration.
- Direct debt management and risk management (property/casualty/liability).
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure fiscal responsibility and accurate reporting.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Experience: 6+ years in financial management with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Sector Knowledge: Experience in municipal or public sector finance is highly preferred.
- Skills: Deep understanding of GAAP, treasury functions, and strategic planning.
Preferred Skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Strong public presentation and visual communication skills.
- Expertise in financial software implementation.
