Role Description
This senior-level position at Government Jobz involves managing the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of all traffic signs and street markings across Maui. Unlike the Level I role, this position supervises through subordinate supervisors to ensure roadway safety and regulatory compliance for all County streets.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee painting, fabrication, and installation of traffic signs and pavement markings.
- Review work orders and coordinate section priorities for optimum equipment use.
- Interpret street plans and prepare sketches for new projects.
- Manage inventory, monitor usage of supplies, and oversee equipment storage.
- Coordinate with Police, Civil Defense, and Corporation Counsel during emergencies or litigation.
- Enforce safety regulations and provide training for all staff members.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants visiting Government Jobz should meet the following criteria:
- Experience: High School diploma plus 3 years of journey-level experience in traffic sign painting/installation.
- Supervisory: At least 2 years of the experience must be in a supervisory role.
- License: Must possess a valid Hawaii State Driver’s License (Class 3).
- Skills: Ability to estimate labor/materials, read Traffic Codes, and issue clear written instructions.
