Role & Responsibilities

In this position, you will assist in experimental agricultural projects. Typical duties include:

• Mapping, staking, and laying out experimental plots for research.
• Planting, cultivating, and harvesting various orchard and field crops.
• Applying fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to maintain research integrity.
• Performing specialized tasks such as pruning, budding, grafting, and thinning.
• Calibrating and operating sophisticated field and laboratory equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify for this recruitment through Government Jobz, applicants should meet these standards:

• Education: Associate of Arts degree (or equivalent) with a major in Agriculture, Science, or a related field.
• Experience: At least one year of experience in growing and harvesting field or orchard crops.
• Knowledge: Understanding of crop varieties, pests, diseases, and chemical use in soil science.
• Skills: Ability to keep accurate records, read scientific publications, and maintain cooperative relationships.
• License: Valid California driver’s license (or the ability to obtain one).
