Role Responsibilities
The mission is to protect Hawaii’s unique ecosystems, ranging from lava flows and coastal dunes to snowy alpine terrain. As a specialist, you will:
- Develop and lead operational management plans for Natural Area Reserves.
- Monitor endangered species and ecosystem trends.
- Implement protection strategies against fire, invasive species, and disease.
- (Level IV) Coordinate complex projects and provide professional consultation.
Requirements for Qualification
To be considered for these usa jobs, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Management, Botany, Wildlife Biology, or a related field.
- Specialized Experience: 1 year (Level III) or 2 years (Level IV) of professional experience in resource conservation or planning.
- Driver’s License: A valid license is required at the time of appointment.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs unassisted.
- Firearms: Must comply with Federal/State laws regarding firearm possession (Lautenberg Act).
