Role Summary
Under general supervision, the Investigative Assistant performs technical work related to criminal and civil cases. Key tasks include interviewing witnesses, serving subpoenas, conducting skip tracing, and utilizing automated systems to verify facts. This role is vital for maintaining the legal rights of citizens and supporting law enforcement efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for this position found on Government Jobz, you must meet one of the following:
- Experience: One year of full-time work in Sacramento County as a Process Server, Child Support Officer (Level II), or related specialist roles.
- Law Enforcement: One year of experience as a sworn Peace Officer (Penal Code 830).
- Investigation: One year of investigative experience including skip tracing and report writing.
- Education: Completion of 18 semester units in Administration of Justice, Police Science, or Criminality from an accredited university.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Technical: Ability to use binoculars, police radios, cameras, and investigative databases.
- Communication: High-level English writing and verbal skills for legal reports.
- Physical: Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
