The Role & Responsibilities

The Associate Code Compliance Inspector performs complex analytical and field duties to enforce city regulations. This role involves both high-level dispute resolution and hands-on maintenance work to prevent neighborhood deterioration.

Key Duties Include:

  • Inspections: Conducting field checks for public nuisances, zoning violations, and substandard property conditions.
  • Public Relations: Mediating neighborhood disputes and representing the City at Homeowners’ Association meetings.
  • Abatement: Performing graffiti removal, weed abatement, and power washing using pneumatic tools.
  • Enforcement: Issuing violation notices and administrative citations; preparing evidence for court hearings.
  • Special Tasks: Overseeing animal licensing/vaccinations and vehicles-for-hire inspections.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience: Two years of public contact experience related to code enforcement, licensing, or environmental standards.
