Level I: $3,786 – $4,614 Monthly
Level II: $4,171 – $5,084 Monthly
Typical Duties & Responsibilities
Behavioral Health Technicians provide essential psychiatric nursing care and patient support. Key responsibilities include:
- Medication Management: Administering medications, maintaining charts, and coordinating with pharmacies.
- Patient Support: Conducting individual counseling, crisis intervention, and daily living skills groups.
- Clinical Assistance: Stocking medical supplies and transporting patients to appointments or lab tests.
- Outreach: Visiting patients in community placements or homes to implement treatment plans (Level II).
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for these Government Jobz, candidates must meet the following:
- Education: Completion of an approved nursing or psychiatric technician program.
- License: Must possess a valid California license as a Psychiatric Technician, Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
- Experience (Level I): One year of experience as a Community Behavioral Health Worker or related nursing experience.
- Experience (Level II): One year of experience specifically in a Behavioral Health or developmentally disabled program.
