Job Purpose & Overview

The Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC) is seeking a Depot Services Associate for the Fairbanks location. This role is vital for managing computerized reservations, ticketing, and gift shop operations. Initially, this position is open to ARW Bargaining Unit Employees until February 3, 2026. If no internal candidates are selected, it will open to the general public until February 11.

Key Responsibilities

• Ticketing & Reservations: Use complex computerized systems to book travel, issue tickets, and process refunds.
• Gift Shop Management: Handle sales, inventory tracking, merchandise displays, and cash register operations.
• Customer Service: Provide info on rail schedules, baggage allowances, and tour packages.
• Operations: Coordinate boarding, assign seats, and manage passenger luggage (up to 50 lbs).
• Financial Reporting: Reconcile daily sales and safeguard cash and credit card data.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of front-line customer service experience.
• 6 months of retail/sales experience.
• Typing speed of 25 wpm and 10-key proficiency.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work irregular hours (weekends/holidays).
