Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Program Specialist III plays a key role in supporting community welfare. Key duties include:

  • Analyzing program operations and researching changes in state and federal laws.
  • Communicating with community groups and agencies regarding homeless concerns.
  • Developing training programs and corrective action plans for program deficiencies.
  • Assisting in budget requests, grant development, and legislative proposals.
  • Providing technical assistance and interpreting program rules for staff and public partners.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college. Professional experience can be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Specialized Experience: 1.5 years of professional work in program planning, evaluation, or social service support for families in need.
  • Selective Certification: At least 1 year must specifically involve providing community resource support to individuals.
  • License: A current, valid driver’s license is mandatory.
