Role Summary
The Human Resources Specialist II performs moderate-level professional tasks within HR management. Unlike level I, this role operates independently on assignments like recruitment, classification, and labor relations. It serves as a stepping stone to level III roles found on Government Jobz.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate position descriptions and conduct field audits to determine work scope.
- Draft new class specifications and collect data for wage surveys.
- Develop, administer, and monitor written and performance examinations.
- Screen applications and provide professional employment counseling.
- Coordinate recruitment materials including brochures and advertisements.
- Interpret laws, rules, and union contracts governing public employment.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Candidates must possess a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Industrial Relations, Business/Public Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience: 1.5 years of progressively responsible professional HR experience (classification, compensation, or recruitment).
- License: A valid Hawaii Type 3 driver’s license.
