About the Role
The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is seeking an Adult Rights Specialist 2. In this role, you will lead investigations into allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elderly and vulnerable citizens. Whether working in Adult Protective Services (APS) or the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCO), you will advocate for resident rights and help Nevadans maintain a high quality of life. Essential Job Duties
- Conduct investigations and interventions for self-neglect, abandonment, and isolation.
- Provide case management and life planning assistance for clients and caregivers.
- Coordinate referral networks for housing, legal, and healthcare needs.
- Develop partnerships with stakeholders and conduct public presentations.
- Monitor Medicaid provider compliance and resolve service issues.
- Advocate for those in skilled nursing, assisted living, and group home settings.
Minimum Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or human services.
- Experience: One year of professional experience investigating/mediating elderly issues OR one year as an Elder Rights Specialist I in Nevada.
