Role Overview
As a Patrol Officer, you will perform essential law enforcement and crime prevention duties. This includes investigating crimes, enforcing federal and state laws, and maintaining public safety. Whether you are a seasoned professional (Lateral) or a new trainee (Recruit), Government Jobz recommends this position for those committed to integrity and community service.
Primary Job Functions
- Patrol & Enforcement: Monitor residential and business areas, issue traffic citations, and make arrests.
- Emergency Response: Attend to traffic accidents, major crimes, civil disputes, and medical emergencies (CPR/First Aid).
- Investigations: Conduct preliminary case work, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare search warrants.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate logs and testify in court as required.
- Community Relations: Participate in public service programs and assist stranded motorists or perform welfare checks.
Mandatory Requirements
To qualify through Government Jobz, applicants must meet these standards:
- Must be at least 21 years old and a U.S. Citizen.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- No felony convictions or domestic violence history.
- Honorable discharge from military service (if applicable).
- Ability to pass the DPSST Basic Law Enforcement training within one year.
Physical & Environmental Demands
This role is physically demanding. Officers must be able to wear equipment exceeding 25 lbs and occasionally move weight up to 200 lbs. Work occurs in all weather conditions and involves rotating shifts, holidays, and emergency call-backs.
