As a Senior Transportation Engineer, you will serve as a subject matter expert in the Development Engineering Division. You will review project plans, manage complex transportation studies, and guide private development through the permitting process. Core Responsibilities
- Review complex private development project designs to ensure compliance with City codes and engineering standards.
- Identify and evaluate impacts from proposed development and negotiate mitigation fees or improvements.
- Manage RFPs, select consultants, and oversee capital improvement projects from inception to completion.
- Represent the City in negotiations with developers, contractors, and public agencies.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position through Government Jobz, applicants must meet the following:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Seven (7) years of engineering experience, including three (3) years of project management.
- Licensing: A valid Professional Engineer’s License (PE) and a Washington State Driver’s License are required.
