Plant Technician III – City of San Diego

Are you an experienced mechanical professional ready to lead? Government Jobz has identified a high-level opportunity with the City of San Diego Public Utilities Department. As a Plant Technician III, you will lead crews in the maintenance and repair of critical water and wastewater infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities
This is a leadership role. You will oversee the overhaul and installation of complex machinery including high-pressure hydraulic systems, boilers, and chemical feed equipment. You will be responsible for managing work orders, procuring supplies, and training staff in repair activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 3 years of full-time experience in a water/wastewater treatment or industrial processing facility.
- Specific Skillset: You MUST have documented experience working on pumps, valves, and piping systems.
- License: Valid California Class C Driver’s License at time of hire.
- Safety: Must be able to pass a respirator fit-test and obtain confined space entry certification.
