Primary Responsibilities
As a journey-level technician, you will handle the installation and repair of complex, computer-controlled traffic systems. Key tasks include:
- Inspecting traffic control intersections and vehicle detector loops.
- Testing new signal cabinets, controllers, and pedestrian timing systems.
- Replacing damaged hardware, wiring, conduit, and traffic lamps.
- Operating light and heavy equipment for site maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for this role on Government Jobz, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5 years of journey-level experience in computerized traffic signal maintenance OR 5 years as an Electrical Technician.
- Ability to pass a color vision test.
- Possession of a valid Class “C” California driver’s license.
- Highly Desirable: IMSA Level II certificate in signal maintenance.
Examination & Application
