Day-to-Day Responsibilities
VON CCAs provide high-quality personal care that helps clients maintain their independence. Typical tasks include:
- Personal Care: Assisting with grooming, dressing, bathing, and hygiene.
- Mobility Support: Helping with safe transfers and ambulation.
- Domestic Tasks: Planning and preparing light meals and assisting with household safety.
- Respite Care: Providing relief for family caregivers.
- Monitoring: Observing client health and maintaining a safe household environment.

Requirements & Qualifications
VON Canada seeks candidates with the following credentials:
- Certification: NS Continuing Care Assistant Certification (or eligible for RPL/PLAR Program).
- Alternate Entry: Nursing students, IENs, or those with PSW/HSW certificates from other provinces.
- Safety: Current CPR/First Aid and satisfactory Criminal Records/Vulnerable Sector Check.
- License: Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
