Key Responsibilities

Domestic Workers at NL Health Services perform standardized cleaning and maintenance tasks to maintain infection control standards:

• Environmental Cleaning: Mopping, sweeping, and disinfecting patient rooms, washrooms, and public clinical areas.
• Waste Management: Safely collecting and disposing of garbage and biomedical waste.
• Sanitation: Stripping and making beds, cleaning furniture, and replenishing washroom supplies.
• Equipment Operation: Using industrial buffers, vacuum cleaners, and automatic floor scrubbers.
• Safety & Maintenance: Identifying and reporting maintenance issues and ensuring the facility remains secure and hazard-free.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this role at NL Health Services, candidates should have:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is typically preferred.
• Core Skills: Knowledge of institutional cleaning practices and infection control procedures.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods and handle manual labor (lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Compliance: A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct (Criminal Record Check) and a valid Driver’s License.
