Primary Responsibilities
In this role highlighted by Government Jobz, your duties include:
- Managing invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation for neonatal through adult patients.
- Performing pulmonary function testing and arterial blood gas (ABG) procurement/analysis.
- Responding to life-threatening emergencies as a key member of the Cardiac Arrest and Trauma teams.
- Providing expert clinical guidance and mentorship to Respiratory Therapist Is and other healthcare staff.
- Participating in both air and ground patient transports for critically ill individuals.
- Coordinating quality initiatives and developing clinical protocols to enhance patient care.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.
- Current licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals (NLCHP).
- Registered member of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) in good standing.
- Current certification in ACLS, NRP, and PALS (or willingness to complete within 6 months).
