Role Overview
Government Jobz is proud to feature this senior clinical vacancy within the Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust. As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), you will provide expert autonomous care, bridging the gap between traditional nursing/therapy roles and medical staff to deliver integrated mental and physical health management.
Salary: £55,690 – £62,682 (Band 8a)
Location: Gillingham (ME7 1AL) / North Kent

The Four Pillars of Advanced Practice
This role is structured around the nationally recognized Four Pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice. Your time will be split to ensure holistic service improvement:
- Expert Practice (70% Focus): Leading clinical assessments, formulations, and non-medical prescribing.
- Professional Leadership: Acting as a consultant and role model for junior clinicians and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Education & Training: Supporting the development of staff and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Service Development: Engaging in audits, research, and evaluating clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Holistic Assessment: Coordinating systematic assessments that include mental, physical, social, and spiritual factors.
- Clinical Leadership: Driving best practices in alignment with NICE guidance and Trust policy.
- Collaborative Care: Formulating person-centered care plans in partnership with service users and carers to support recovery.
- Inter-agency Working: Collaborating across different healthcare settings to ensure joined-up care for Kent’s 1.8 million residents.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Typically requires Master’s level education in Advanced Clinical Practice and Non-Medical Prescribing.
- Driving: A full, valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is essential.
- Experience: Extensive post-qualifying experience in acute or community mental health settings.
