Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Teaching: Contribute directly to the delivery of the English teaching program.
- Preparation & Assessment: Develop educational materials, plan lesson structures, conduct testing, and track records accurately.
- Administration: Fulfill general administrative workflows overseen by the Head of Department.
- Quality & Safety: Conduct internal verification reviews, participate in annual observed lessons, and keep a secure work environment following the HASAW Act.
- Safeguarding & Support: Protect children and vulnerable adults. Assist as an exam invigilator during peak times (training provided).
Job Requirements & Attainments
Essential Qualifications: You must have a degree in English, Linguistics, TESOL, CELTA/DELTA, or an equivalent qualification. Grade A-C in GCSE Maths and English is required, along with a Level 5 Teacher Training Qualification (or willingness to achieve it). Required Experience: Previous experience teaching either GCSEs or Functional Skills is explicitly required.
Desirable Criteria: Previous background teaching at this specific level, understanding English curriculum challenges, and active knowledge of digital tools (email, internet software).
