Role Responsibilities
The primary goal of this role is to help SEND students achieve independence and reach their full potential. Key duties include:
- Providing in-class support and mentoring for students with EHCPs.
- Assisting lecturers with classroom materials and activities.
- Acting as a “Key Worker” and assisting in the EHCP annual review process.
- Monitoring student progress, attendance, and record-keeping via ProMonitor.
- Supporting students during work placements, trips, and exam arrangements.
- Collaborating with staff on Risk Assessments and Medical Protocols.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
- English and Maths skills at Level 2 (GCSE C or equivalent).
- Proficiency in IT (Email, Internet, Software).
- Experience supporting young people with learning difficulties.
- Understanding of Safeguarding and Equality & Diversity.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in Further Education (FE).
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2014).
- Experience managing “behaviours for concern.”
