Role Summary & Responsibilities
In this position, found via Government Jobz, you will provide specialized inspections, repairs, and maintenance for SAR aircraft and ground support equipment. Key duties include:
- Ensuring aircraft and facilities remain in mission-ready status.
- Performing repairs in compliance with FAA and OSHA regulations.
- Handling aircraft line services, including refueling and jet fuel quality control.
- Acting as a flight crew chief and assisting in rescue/recovery missions.
- Troubleshooting complex maintenance discrepancies and fabricating specialized parts.
- Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive department missions.
Mandatory Requirements
To qualify for this Government Jobz opportunity, applicants must meet the following:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (or 12 years of equivalent experience).
- Licensing: Valid FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License.
- Experience: At least two years of experience as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
- Certifications: Ability to obtain an Alaska CDL with HazMat/Tanker endorsements during probation.
- Background Check: Must pass criminal background, fingerprinting, and TSA safety tests to obtain an AOA badge.
- Testing: Compliance with federal drug and alcohol testing mandates (pre-employment and random).
