Primary Purpose
The Animal Control Supervisor manages, coordinates, and supervises the Animal Control Section. This involves ensuring the enforcement of animal control ordinances, investigating animal-related nuisances, and overseeing animal bite cases, including rabies observation.
Essential Duties
- Supervise and train subordinate animal control personnel.
- Perform independent investigations and respond to citizen complaints.
- Coordinate evidence gathering and testify in court regarding violations.
- Conduct educational workshops for students and the general public.
- Manage inventory and maintain division vehicles/equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for this role via Government Jobz, you must have:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of experience in animal care/control, law enforcement, or investigations.
- OR Two (2) years of general supervisory/management experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Class D Driver’s License.
