Typical Duties & Responsibilities
As a Supervisor, you will be the backbone of the Social Service unit. Key duties include:
- Planning, assigning, and supervising the work of Social Service Workers.
- Coaching, mentoring, and providing technical instruction to unit members.
- Monitoring workload, performance, and ensuring new employees receive proper training.
- Managing exceptionally difficult or complex cases within Child Welfare Services.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for this position found on Government Jobz, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
- Experience: Three years of complex caseload management involving child welfare services.
- License: A valid California driver’s license.
Desirable Standards: Preference may be given to those with a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or two years of experience as a Lead Social Services Worker.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Applicants should demonstrate expertise in the dynamics of child abuse, interviewing techniques, and community resources. You must have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse socioeconomic backgrounds and use contemporary office equipment and software.
