Role & Responsibilities
As a CCI in the Elder Abuse unit, you will be the primary link between law enforcement and Adult Protective Services (APS). Your work will directly impact the safety of at-risk adults and elders through detailed criminal investigations.
Your daily tasks will include:
- Triaging incoming calls regarding elder abuse and cyber tips to determine necessary police response.
- Submitting evidence to the CBI for DNA analysis and processing crime scenes.
- Conducting field work, including victim/witness interviews and writing search warrants.
- Preparing and filing cases with the District Attorney’s office and testifying in court.
- Collaborating with the Victim Advocacy Unit (VAU) and community partners.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify through Government Jobz, applicants must possess the following:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (majors in Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, or Criminal Justice preferred).
- Experience: Five years of law enforcement experience. (Equivalencies between education and experience are considered).
- Certifications: Ability to obtain NCIC and CCIC certifications within three months of hire.
- License: A valid Colorado driver’s license.

This position requires a high level of integrity. Final candidates must successfully complete a polygraph examination, fingerprinting, and an extensive background check.
