Minimum Qualifications
Level I (Entry Level):
- 3 years of experience dealing with the public and problem-solving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class C California Driver’s License.
Level II (Journey Level):
- 2 years of experience as a Code Enforcement Officer I.
- Additional vocational training or college coursework in Code Enforcement.
- PC 832 certification and code enforcement organization certificates are highly desired.
Work Environment & Physical Needs
This role involves both office work and field inspections in various weather conditions. Physical tasks include walking, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Officers are required to wear safety gear, including a ballistic vest and duty belt. Dealing with the public requires strong communication skills and emotional intelligence.
