Position Summary
As a Controller found via Government Jobz, you will manage administrative and accounting tasks following GASB principles and Florida statutes. You will oversee daily operations including payroll, accounts payable, EMS billing, and budget audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and train finance department staff.
- Analyze fiscal records and perform monthly/annual reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Assist with the annual budget compilation and external audits.
- Manage fixed assets and inter-departmental financial transactions.
Qualifications & Skills
To qualify for this role through Government Jobz, candidates must meet the following:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Experience: 10 years in a fiscal field, with 4 years in a supervisory position.
- Certifications: Valid Driver’s License. (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic accounting systems and strong leadership abilities.
Physical Requirements
The role is based in a standard office environment, requiring extended periods of sitting, data entry, and the ability to lift up to 15 pounds. Extended hours may be required during audit or budget seasons.
