Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Court Bailiff II, you will serve as the primary officer responsible for providing courtroom services to the judge. Key duties include:

  • Maintaining order and decorum within the courtroom.
  • Serving notices regarding court actions.
  • Attending to and securing jurors during their deliberations.
  • Taking responsibility for grand and trial jurors.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education

Experience Needed

  • General Experience: Three (3) years of work demonstrating the ability to follow complex instructions, write simple reports, and deal effectively with the public.
  • Specialized Experience: One (1) year of professional experience as a bailiff within a statewide court system.

Substitutions and Eligibility

You can substitute General Experience with college study in a Baccalaureate program (15 credits = 6 months of experience), up to a maximum of three years. Government Jobz recommends reviewing your transcripts before applying.
