The Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink) is looking for a dynamic Customer Relations Representative to be the face of the rail system. Core Responsibilities
As a key member of the Customer Relations team, you will provide real-time support to Metrolink riders. Explore more transportation government jobs on our portal.
- Passenger Assistance: Guide riders on train timetables, ticket vending machine use, fare policies, and transit connections.
- Sales & Revenue: Process debit/credit ticket sales, handle cash balancing, and operate Ticket Office Machines (TOM).
- Service Recovery: Coordinate alternate transportation (bus bridges) during planned outages or service disruptions.
- Safety & Communication: Make public address announcements at platforms and report safety issues to security.
- Lost & Found: Manage the return of lost items and record feedback in the customer database.
Requirements & Qualifications
To qualify through Government Jobz, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in a customer service role with measurable satisfaction standards.
- Testing: Must pass a computer-based assessment during the selection process.
- License: Valid Class C Driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record (no DUIs and <2 moving violations in 3 years).
Working Environment
This is a high-energy role that involves working in an outdoor environment. You must be comfortable with exposure to weather changes, loud noises (85+ decibels), and moving mechanical parts near railroad tracks. Physical stamina is required for kneeling, stooping, and kneeling while managing station kiosks and signage.
