The Port of San Diego is seeking a visionary Director of Information Technology to lead innovation and align technology with organizational goals. This executive role manages a department of 35 positions and supports over 125 business applications. Key Responsibilities
- Direct all IT Department activities, including enterprise applications, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
- Manage multi-million dollar budgets for technology operations and capital investments.

- Lead and mentor a large team of managers and technical staff.
- Partner with the Chief Information Security Officer to implement data protection strategies.
- Oversee disaster recovery frameworks and system redundancy.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years of progressively responsible IT experience, including 4 years in management and 3 years in complex project management. Government experience and SAP/S4 Hana knowledge are preferred.
Certifications: Valid California Class C Driver’s License and ability to pass a background check (DOJ/FBI fingerprinting).

- Expertise in ITIL frameworks and information technology management.
- Strong ability in strategic planning and assessing user department tech needs.
- Diplomacy in handling sensitive and confidential issues.
- Expertise in managing complex vendor relationships and contractor statements of work.
