Job Overview

Key Duties
- Develop operational plans for siren warning and communication systems.
- Train government officials and volunteers on disaster response.
- Research best practices and manage emergency mitigation grants.
- Staff the Emergency Operation Center during active incidents.
- Coordinate damage assessments and federal disaster assistance programs.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for this position found on Government Jobz, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 1.5 years of progressively responsible work in the emergency management field.
- License: Valid motor vehicle driver’s license (Hawaii Type 3 equivalent).
- Skills: Knowledge of FEMA regulations, geographic features of Hawaii, and the ability to act decisively under high-stress conditions.
