Position Overview
Calvert County is hiring for the Summer 2026 season. This role involves providing one-on-one assistance to individuals with disabilities during recreational activities. If you are looking for Government Jobz in the recreation sector, this is a great opportunity to make an impact.
Mandatory Dates
- Staff Orientation: Starts June 15, 2026 (Mandatory)
- Camp Duration: June 22, 2026 – August 7, 2026
Essential Job Functions
As part of the Government Jobz team in the Recreation Division, your duties include:
- Providing 1:1 support for activities like swimming, boating, and field trips.
- Adapting activities to be age and ability-appropriate.
- Assisting with daily living needs (feeding, clothing, and toileting).
- Maintaining attendance records and writing daily progress notes.
- Ensuring a safe environment for all participants and staff.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Minimum completion of 10th grade.
Experience: At least 3 months of experience working with individuals with special needs.
Skills: Ability to transfer individuals in/out of wheelchairs and work in swimming pools.
Certifications: First Aid and CPR are preferred.
