Job Overview & Duties

As a Payroll Specialist at the Vendor Payment and Payroll Unit, you will handle complex payroll functions. Your role involves providing expert recommendations to sustain operations and ensuring full compliance with state policies and standards. This is a 12-month position located in the heart of Honolulu.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university. (Equivalent professional experience may be substituted).
• General Experience: At least 1 year of professional work requiring high analytical skills, problem-solving, and report writing.
• Specialized Experience: At least 1 year of professional experience in Business Administration, HR, Accounting, or Payroll.
• Substitutions: A Master’s degree can substitute for General Experience, but not for Specialized Experience.

Salary & Benefits Information

New hires typically start at the initial step of the salary range, though exceptional qualifications or critical needs may allow for higher placement with prior approval.
