Role Description & Responsibilities

As a Resource Protection Specialist III, you will act as a field supervisor. Your primary duties include investigating County code violations, land use permits, and building regulations. You will work closely with agencies like the Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney to resolve complex cases. According to Government Jobz, you will also be responsible for preparing administrative search warrants and making case presentations to Hearing Officers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: At least two years as a Resource Protection Specialist II or equivalent public agency experience in investigating zoning, building, or environmental laws.
  • Education: A combination of training and education in criminal justice, environmental studies, or natural resource management.
  • License: A valid California Driver’s License is required.
  • Certification: Completion of P.O.S.T. approved Penal Code 832 Level III reserve training must be finished before the end of the probationary period.
