Job Summary & Purpose

As a Senior Office Specialist featured on Government Jobz, you will coordinate administrative and clerical accounting activities. You will play a vital role in supporting the Power Generation & Distribution division through high-level organizational and secretarial support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and track electronic and paper records to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Oversee daily office tasks, train clerical staff, and monitor document completion.
  • Process invoices for payment and manage office supply inventory.
  • Prepare, proofread, and distribute documents, including grant applications and budget reports.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, schedule meetings, and take meeting minutes.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding Borough information and personnel records.
  • Act as a liaison between various departments, agencies, and programs.

Department Specific Duties

For Search and Rescue roles, you may work non-traditional schedules (evenings/weekends) and be on-call 24/7. Health Department roles require strict adherence to HIPAA and infection prevention policies. Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma, G.E.D., or a combination of 12 years of education and experience.
  • Experience: Four years of clerical work experience.
  • License: Ability to obtain a valid Alaska driver’s license within the probationary period.
  • Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
  • Health: Documentation showing freedom from active pulmonary tuberculosis (Health Dept only).

Skills and Abilities
