Role Summary
As a Site Attendant I, you are the face of Snohomish County’s waste management system. This is a training-level position designed to help you achieve mandatory certification as a Site Attendant II or III. You will balance customer service with technical duties, such as processing fees and operating disposal equipment.
Essential Job Duties
Based on the listing at Government Jobz, your daily tasks will include:
- Recording weights/volumes of materials manually or electronically.
- Collecting fees from customers and reconciling daily cash collections.
- Operating light equipment including backhoes and forklifts.
- Providing professional and tactful assistance regarding recycling rules and policies.
- Identifying and segregating hazardous waste materials.
- Performing manual labor such as sweeping, shoveling, and hosing work areas.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for this role on Government Jobz, applicants must have:
- A High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent training).
- A valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- The ability to obtain a First Aid/CPR card and Hazardous Waste certification within six months.
- Strong basic math skills for processing financial transactions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
