  • Log items received and distributed using a specialized computerized inventory program.
  • Initiate formal stock replenishment requisitions and perform routine physical inventory audits.
  • Operate warehouse equipment like hand trucks or forklifts, and drive light motor vehicles to retrieve vendor supplies.
  • Design space allotments, manage storekeeping procedures, and establish minimum inventory thresholds.
  • Evaluate damaged or worn tools for serviceability and document materials distribution.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Finance to update records regarding property acquisitions and disposals.
  • Supervise assigned helpers or support staff when required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Training and Experience

Applicants must have an educational background equivalent to high school graduation combined with at least two (2) years of professional storekeeping experience.

License Requirement

Possession of a valid motor vehicle driver’s license (equivalent to a State of Hawaii Type 3 license) is mandatory.

Required Knowledge

Practical understanding of commercial storekeeping methods, clerical workflows, inventory recordkeeping rules, storage problems, and basic purchasing procedures.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to set up warehouse systems, handle basic math computations, cross-reference invoices, utilize modern computer hardware/software, follow detailed instructions, and work harmoniously with other personnel.

Physical Demands

Candidates must meet the health and physical standards required for the Light Physical Effort Grouping, with or without reasonable accommodations.
