Traffic Signs & Markings Apprentice – City of Loveland

This one-year, 2000-hour program offers professional mentoring and classroom training to prepare you for a role as a Traffic Signal Technician.
Salary: $21.02 – $24.50 Hourly
Location: Loveland, CO

Primary Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain long-line striping trucks and pavement marking equipment.
- Install crosswalks, arrows, and bike symbols following federal guidelines (MUTCD).
- Manufacture and repair traffic signs using graphic software.
- Assist with GIS data, sign inventories, and snow removal during emergencies.
- Provide excellent service to the Loveland community.
Requirements & Certifications
Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED. While previous experience is preferred, the program provides training for the Colorado Flagger, Pavement Marking, and Traffic Control Technician certifications.
CDL Requirement: You must have a Class B CDL permit at hire and obtain a full license within 6 months. Please note: Training costs ($3,000) may be subject to repayment if you leave within 12 months. Explore more technical roles on Government Jobz.
Work Environment
